Setup

Below are instructions for initial set up of the app after installation. There are 4 steps overall:

  1. Sync Products
  2. Create Materials
  3. Create Bill of Materials
  4. Activate Inventory Sync

Sync Products

The first step is to sync product variants from Shopify to Fusion Inventory.

Navigate to the "products" page and click on the green "Sync Products" button on the top right.

Create Materials

The next step will be to create the raw materials for your products. You can do this on the "materials" page.

The user interface will allow you to create materials 1 by 1 using the "Add Materials" button on the top right. (Note that your material "code" and "name" must be unique)

You will likely want to upload materials in bulk however to save time. To do accomplish, this perform the following steps:

  1. Click on the "Import" button on the top right.
  2. Click on "Download CSV Template" on the popup modal to download the CSV file.
  3. Open the CSV file in any spreadsheet software (like Microsoft Excel) and add a new row for each material that you want to upload. (Do not modify the first row).
  4. Go back to Fusion Inventory's "materials" page and click on "Import" to open the import modal again.
  5. Add the file that you edited in Step 3.
  6. Click on Save.

Create Bills of Materials

The next step is to create a bill of materials for your products in Fusion Inventory. There are 3 ways to do this:

UI Method

  1. Navigate to the "products" page and select the product that you want to create a bill of materials for.
  2. Click on "Add Materials to Bill".
  3. Select the Material from the dropdown and input the quantity.
  4. Click "Save".

Single Product Upload

  1. Navigate to the "products" page and select the product that you want to create a bill of materials for.
  2. Click on "Import" to open the import modal.
  3. Download the CSV template
  4. Fill in the CSV file and upload it using the import modal.

Bulk Bill of Materials Upload

  1. Navigate to the "products" page
  2. Click on "BoM Bulk Import"
  3. Download the CSV template
  4. Fill in the CSV file and upload it using the import modal.

Activate Inventory Sync

The last step is to activate Inventory sync. Once inventory sync is activated, Fusion Inventory will take care of syncing inventory quantities from the app to Shopify every time that an order is placed/cancelled or whenever you update your material quantities in the app.

To activate Inventory Sync, navigate to the settings page and click on the "Enable" button.

Note: You must have an active plan before enabling inventory sync.
